I used for an RV-8 forward baggage hold open assist, so as not to over-rotate the cowling zipper hinge. Many use the compressed gas or spring cabinet styles, but I specifically do not want an opening force on the baggage door's lock, just a support for when it is open. This would work nicely on jewelry boxes, and any similar application where the object held open is less than three pounds.
