The ship modeling accessories are essential when it comes to decorating or building any ship model from scratch. Likewise, they are fundamental when it happens a loss or breakage of some part during the construction process. The anchors are one of the most demanded accessories. This is the case of this 50x35 mm Spanish Anchor by Artesania Latina, made of high quality metal. It gives more realism to any miniature naval replica.

Be sure to read and measure to ensure you are ordering the correct size. I purchased the 1 1/2 lbs size, and it is too small for a kayak in 5 knots of wind. Also, the grapples tend to fold under rather than deploy outward. This occurs even when the ring collar is rotated to hold the grapples out.

I'm a fan of this type anchor because it folds up for stowing and allows me to pull it out backwards if it is rigged properly and gets stuck. I have two of these that I have been using, both 3 pounders and they worked okay with my boat but were sometimes hard to set. I went with the heavier 9 pound anchor for the bow anchor and it sets much easier. I rig the rhode to the bottom of the anchor with a clevis and leaving some slack in the chain, zip tie it to the top of the anchor.
